The Winter Issue of HAPPEN Candidate Profiles is now in the process of being mailed to over 500 HR professionals. Those who participated in this campaign can expect calls by the beginning of next week. Either be prepared to immediately participate in an initial interview, or let your answering system take the call, so that you can be fully prepared to return it. If you elect to allow your system to screen your calls make sure your greeting reflects your professional brand.
A quote from Mark Sanborn, "Not only is the pen mightier than the sword, the written goal is mightier than the thoughtful aspiration". This reminds us of the need to set goals, write then down and refer to them at least daily. What date have you set as a goal for returning to regular employment? Who will you be working for? How well will you be remunerated? How long will you commute?
Setting goals allows us to focus and not be sidetracked into possibilities that will not lead us to our desired objectives. If we don't know where we are headed we will end up some place we did not expect.
"The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low...and we reach it"

Contact members in your profession, they may have a lead for you. You may have a lead for them.
Talking to others face to face continues to be the best source of new job leads. HAPPEN morning networking meetings offer this opportunity in a collegial atmosphere. You never know who knows something or somebody who can help you until you have a conversation with them.
As we receive 80% of information through our eyes, face to face conversation is the best investment of our time.
We look forward to seeing you this week.
