Don't stop now! The tedium and torpor tends to take toll of tenacity and talent during the job search process. There is good news every week of successful interview experiences and job offers. Your turn is coming Keep up your routine of meeting with at least 5 people per week. Contact those who you met last week with concern for their circumstances. Keep careful notes of how to contact them and a record of how you can help them.
Even if you do not have a specific lead for them, make contact and assure them that you are on the alert for any information that would benefit them.
People don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care.
During last week there was a spontaneous out pouring of support for one of our members who was finding renewing his membership a challenge. Many members used the HAPPENlink newsgroup to provide encouragement and show concern in a tangible way by offering financial support.
A sense of financial constraint is heightened during transition, when the security of a steady income is no longer the norm. Offering to support others is ennobling and deeply appreciated.
The HAPPEN members are ready to help you, providing you communicate how they can be of most help. You trigger this reaction from the vast army of HAPPEN members by offering your help.
HAPPEN makes the communication tools available for your use. Is it time for you to introduce yourself again on HAPPENlink? Do all the members know how they can help you? Don't forget your part, how can you help them.
A warm thank you to the volunteers who have been following up the Winter Issue of HAPPEN Profiles, which was mailed 2 weeks ago. Please wind up your calls this week, even if you have not been able to contact every body on the sheet. Return he sheets to me your comments will help keep the HAPPEN mailing list up to date.
To alleviate the winter blahs those attending the meeting in Mississauga this week will see some amazing entertainment, in addition to some leadership coaching and presentation tips.
Details of the all the presentations are on our website as usual.

Planning for an evening event for our Alumni that are now working is now well underway. Murray Etherington has agreed to lead a team of volunteers who are working on the details. A formal announcement will be forthcoming. Although this is an opportunity for Alumni to meet and keep in touch, those in transition will also be made welcome.
