In retooling the New HAPPEN organization, we are mindful that in recent years, we've seen an increase in the challenges facing members looking for meaningful, well-paying jobs that recognized the value of their experience. Facing this reality, we realized that HAPPEN needed change. Accordingly, I am pleased to announce that we are about to relaunch HAPPEN as a non-profit advocacy organization, made up of, and for the benefit of, experienced workers with a view to developing Income for Life.

Stepping into the role of Executive Director is Eric Vengroff, a serial-entrepreneur who previously was the CEO of Fifty-Plus, Net International Inc. (TSXV:FPN), a publicly-traded Internet business based in Toronto, which was subsequently acquired by a company led by Moses Znaimer of CityTV fame.

After serving a year as the Executive VP of ZoomerMedia Ltd. (TSXV: ZUM), the successor corporation to FPN, Eric went to be the VP and General Manager of CARP, Canada's Association for the Fifty-Plus, until 2013. During that time, he led CARP to partner with numerous services and organizations, providing an unprecedented array of new benefits to CARP members, including discounted insurance, cellphones, travel, and health benefits. We are counting on Eric to do the same at HAPPEN.

In the coming weeks, we will announce our re-launch date and program, as well as new membership pricing and options. Please follow our progress and join us for our re-launch meeting, scheduled for February 27th at the Living Arts Centre, Mississauga and follow this space for future updates!
