This week several members will have there Video Bio shot, with final editing taking place during the following week.  This tool can really help transit your soft skills and definitely make you stand out from other candidates.   Once again this week we heard of HR professionals who will not proceed to a face interview if a candidate is not using the social media and demonstrates familiarity with current communication tools.

Here is a quote from Reid Hoffman, the LinkedIn founder. "One big reality is that plenty of baby boomers are out of work as the industries in which they've developed three decades of expertise move overseas or change irrevocably."

Maybe the job you used to do is no longer in existence.  If this is true for you a breakdown of your skills will show where you may be able to give value and apply yourself.  This may be in a different industry, or organization.  The change may not be easy or comfortable but may be the only viable alternative.

You may wish to consult with one of the HAPPEN career coaches.  All our Approved Service Providers will provide at least a 15 minute phone discussion at no charge to you.

The Approved Service Providers are listed on the website with some commentary on their expertise.

The business pace is quickening.  Companies are bidding on projects which will commence in the fall.  Some will require an immediate boost in staff levels. Maintain your network contacts to keep abreast of the latest developments.
