The spring issue of the HAPPEN Candidate Profiles will be mailed this week. Be ready to accept calls from your next employer and some recruiters. All indications are that there is a definite increase in hiring at this time.
The attendance at the Markham meeting last week broke all previous records for that location; we had to add extra chairs at the back of the room. Brian Bassett helped members prepare for their next interview in his usual inimitable style.
Pre-registration for meetings may be paid through the website. Members should log in before pre-registering, or else the site will assume they are first time visitors and charge the $30.00 visitor fee.
All members are thankful for those who volunteer to assist in the running of the meetings. Charles Stewart is always pleased to hear from new volunteers to replace those who find employment.
The volunteers are more visible and get work ore quickly. Please remember if you are scheduled to help to arrive in a timely manner. If you are in the middle of a series of interviews you may wish to put a hold on your offer to help until you can clear your calendar.
The job search is an intensive time management process. You do not have to be available on demand. As you are juggling many opportunities, a first contact interview can be moved to suit your schedule. Recruiters who are in a desperate hurry to see you may not have a retainer contract with the employer.
The new site has many new features, check them out and update your Profile so recruiters/employers can find you faster.
