Congratulations to the 6 members who advised during last week, that they have found new employment. For some the time in transition was only a few weeks, but for others it took much longer. The statistical average is still about 20 weeks, as it has been for several years. There are many factors that affect this time frame. The transition process is much the same as divorce or the loss of someone close.
Help can be obtained by talking to others who are going through the same process. The morning networking meetings provide a supportive environment as well as a source for new contacts.
Empathy and understanding can best be given and received in face to face discussion. No amount of computer generated information can supply the feeling that others understand your situation.
This year over 100 members have renewed their membership. This shows that they believe that they will continue to receive value for their membership fees. Providing members continue to renew before their expiry date they only have to pay the $60 annual fee. Members who have let their membership lapse may rejoin again by paying the $90 enrolment fee in addition to the $60 annual fee.
Renewal reminder letters are sent out 6 weeks prior to the expiry date and a second reminder is sent out 2 weeks prior to the reminder date. On receipt of payment the membership expiry date is extended by 12 months.
There will not be a meeting in Vancouver this week, but all the Ontario locations will meet as usual. Now is the time to get a jump on your competitors who may wait until after school is back before firing up their job search again.
