A new service for members will begin this week.  On Tuesday in Mississauga a Coaches Corner will be available between 7:30 and 8:15 a.m. before the formal program starts.   This concept was suggested by our latest Approved Service Provider, Curt Skene.   There is no extra charge for this service at this time.

Curt will be on hand for random questions about the job search process from paid up HAPPEN members this week.  This is a pilot project, we would anticipate other Approved Service Providers will participate on other weeks, and we may expand to our other locations if there is a demand.

If your job search is not moving as fast as you would wish come and talk to the coach, he is sure to be able to provide new insight on your situation.

The profiles listed on the website are a great source of information about companies and industries.  The Profiles are searchable by a many key words including company names and professional designations. HAPPEN members understand your situation because they have had the same experience. HAPPEN members are usually local people who are familiar with the local business climate. Many of them will be only a local phone call away.

New members often ask how they can expand their network of contacts.   The queen of Networking, Donna Messer will be with us in Burlington on Wednesday.  She will clearly demonstrate how you can make yourself more visible and increase your number of contacts quickly.  Come and sit near the front of the room there will be plenty of audience participation.

A contract is in operation once service has been performed and remuneration received.  This appears obvious, but we have had more than one example from members who have performed service as agreed only to find that the agreed remuneration is not forthcoming in the expected time frame.

If your next employer asks you to sign any kind of contract, it almost certainly will be to your disadvantage.

There are many legal considerations during the job search process.  Come to Markham this week and hear Lior Samfiru, our Approved Service Provider highlight some of the common pitfalls you should avoid before you accept one of the job offers you are considering.

Lior always brings some humour to this seemingly dry subject, and there is free breakfast for members.
