Change has Changed.
by Pat Thornton
August 17, 2010 Meeting - Mississauga
Session Description.
The future will continue to bring increasingly
more complex demands for us (and our organizations) to constantly reinvent
ourselves with even less advance notice than ever before. Those of us who can respond quickly and
effectively to changes in our marketplace and work environment will always have
a competitive edge ... and will be positioned to move beyond merely surviving to
truly thriving in today's more complex world of work.
Session Process.
Self-Management is Key. People who are clear
about their unique preferences and personal values will be able to quickly make
well-informed work and life choices with contingency plans for a wide range of
unpredictables. These are the individuals that will have the only kind of
"guarantees" that exist today ... the kind that we create for ourselves by
accepting more personal accountability for the quality of our work lives.
During this session you will work with an
innovative communications tool in the form of a card deck that provides a fun
process to quickly uncover and clarify some of your priority workplace
satisfaction factors. This process can help you in any stage of your
career, including preparing for job interviews, making career transitions,
developing leadership and coaching skills, or planning a longer-term career
advancement strategy for yourself.
Session Outcomes.
After this
session, you will have:
-
Gained an understanding of the real root
causes of job stress in today's ever-changing world of work ... and how you
can take more ownership for not just managing your stress, but actually
finding ways to avoid it. -
Learned how you can easily develop a
process for becoming a Change Agent,
which is one of the most sought-after competencies in business leaders
today. -
Explored ways to not only help yourself
navigate organizational change more effectively, but get tips for how to
lead others through even the most turbulent times.
